Solving some Twitter problems.

http://blog-it.ca has both a user set twitter and a site wide updater. Over the course of the day, the site admin and I were running into 401s when we were trying to update Twitter from some of our blog pages.

We never found out quite why, but Roger tells me it has something to do with a ghost in the machine. I will dub the: Casper.

Has anyone else run in to this sort of problem? If you have seen this problem, drop me a line or post a comment on my blog. If you have a solution, even better.

Covering the grand opening of a local Farmers' Market in Kingston

As part of my duties as a rural affairs correspondent for BuyFromTheFarm.ca and other publications, I often get invited to all sorts of local events in my hometown of Kingston, Ontario.

This coming Sunday (May 31st, 2009), I will be attending the grand opening of The Community Harvest Market with camera and notepad in hand. The market will be giving out fifty $5.00 coupons to families shopping at the market.

Canadians Misled by CBC and Canadian Geographic

Top Ten Farmers Markets: BuyFromTheFarm.ca Issues Media Challenge

A CBC.ca article entitled “3 Maritime farmers' markets among top 10 across Canada” refers to an article in Canadian Geographic saying: “The magazine published its list of the top 10 farmers' markets...” Canadian Geographic has in fact published Anita Stewart's top ten favourite farmers' markets.

“Prolific cookbook author, culinary activist and regional foods champion Anita Stewart digs into Canada’s bumper crop of farmers’ market” --Canadian Geographic.

Why Blog-It?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in most people's minds, seems to be an effort to generate back links. Most completely miss the point that a web site should be developed to create sustainable traffic by posting high quality content that users wish to read.
