Why Blog-It?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in most people's minds, seems to be an effort to generate back links. Most completely miss the point that a web site should be developed to create sustainable traffic by posting high quality content that users wish to read.

Once you have the content, the traffic will come. The only question is how quickly. Directories are touted as a quick source of back links to improve your SERP position, but I have yet to see any site benefit from the proliferation of free directories put up by SEO firms. These directories have little to offer a reader, and are not used to find information.

The best back links are 'organic' in that they result from a satisfied user inviting others to visit your site. Social networking has made it possible to announce a site, whether a blog or not, to thousands of other users. The communities , known as 'organic groups' create organic links.

Blog-It was created to be a hub for organic groups. If bloggers create a listing for their blog here, their RSS feed becomes another source of our content. Each member should create a native blog on this site, linking to their main blog, and visa versa, creating unique content on blog-it.ca.

With this system in place, the Directory nature of Blog-It.ca is validated. Users can find recent material, look for blogs under given categories, read bloggers profiles, visit sites, subscribe to RSS feeds, and recommend the blogs to their social network, all through a single site.

We support reciprocal BackTrack if you have it enabled. If you do not have a Twitter account (Why not?) you may participate in the site-wide account, Blog_It.

Blog-It.ca showcases every new directory listing for 30 days, and Recent Articles published by the blogs in our Directory within the past week. We have tried to keep the site simple: fresh content, user blogs, open reciprocal linking, and access to social networking (look for the Share icon at the top of the post).

Read our Policy Page. We have kept it simple too. Help us to create an organic group of bloggers, dedicated to the success of their own efforts.

Welcome to Blog-It.ca.
